I removed the old Rapido couplers from the trucks, and cut off their supports. I replaced the wheels with Micro-Trains low-profile wheels. I did notice that
the Atlas truck is wider than the Micro-Trains wheelsets are long. They just barely hang in there. If that becomes a problem, I will need to upgrade the
trucks as well. I painted the wheels with two colors. The inside of the wheels were painted with Floquil's Rail Brown (hard to see in the picture below), and
the wheel threads were painted with Poly Scale Stainless Steel.
The last step was to apply various colors of weathering chalk to the body. The final result is shown here.
