The Pennsylvania Railroad received F3's from July 1947 through January 1949. They were made by EMD. These only received a single stripe and were
never used for passenger service (hence the Brunswick Green paint color), except for occasionally helper service. The prototype photo of #9525
came from the Fallen Flags web site. Other references are the
"Pennsylvania Railroad" (1997, MBI Publishing Company, ISBN 0-7603-0379-7, pg 54), "Pennsylvania Railroad Diesel
Locomotive Pictorial Volume Six - EMD and Alco Freight Cab Units" (2001, Withers Publishing, ISBN 1-881411-32-X, pp 350-382), and
"The Encyclopedia of Trains & Locomotives" (2002, Michael Friedman Publishing Group, Inc., ISBN 1567999824, pp 98).
This was Kato's original release of the F3. It is a good runner.
