To make day-to-day operations a bit easier on me, I decided to install a big ON/OFF switch to turn on or off the electricity to the entire layout. This
includes the DCC equipment and the accessories power supplies.
Track has arrived on the BC&E! I started at the turntable, so the first order of business was to trim the rails on the turntable bridge. The next photo
shows how I made sure that the rails just cleared ruler.
The first three feet of track has been glued in place. The rails were connected and cleaned. The E8 was the first locomotive to successfully make the trip
off the turntable onto the mainline track. I am laying the track exactly as I documented in my "Handlaying
Code 40 Track" article.
