Here's an updated photo of the center section of the layout. Steady progress is being made. I did some rough painting of the sky. I may enhance that some
more depending on the trees I plan on "growing" there. The two trees are just stand-ins right now.
An extra section of 65-inch (165 cm) long track is being added to the BC&E in Bear Creek. A new factory will be built soon, so the railroad is laying track
to the area. In the photo below the ties are being laid right on top of the cork subroadbed.
After all the ties were installed, I stained them, followed
by some dry-brushing of white to help age them a bit.
The photo on the right shows the section of track fully ballasted. I am building this piece completely on the workbench. Though not always feasible, doing
the work on the workbench does make it easier and more enjoyable.
