The last photo on the previous page shows the 2-1/2" boards in their rough position. The next photo shows them glued into place. I spaced the boards about
8 inches (20cm) on center, except in areas where I know I am going to place turnout controls. I placed four little glue blocks around each board for added
strength. Although the final construction was very solid, I decided to also place two diagonal braces just to be sure. Everything is glued; no nails or
screws.
The next step was to strip some bus wires and insert them into the pre-drilled holes. I decided to strip these wires because using the suitcase connectors is
a real pain. I tried simply using stripped bus wires in the Bear Creek industrial area and I was very happy with the results. It is so much easier to solder
feeder wires to the bus wires now. In the photo below, the left two wires are for the DCC supply and the right two wires are for the 12-volt accessories
supply.
