I have made no progress on the layout since the last update. As a matter of fact, this is the last update for the Bear Creek & Eastern, because the layout project has been canceled.

On July 4th weekend I made the decision to switch from N scale to S scale (see my article about the change). The BC & E last 892 days (two-and-a-half years by the time it will be torn down). That's the longest I have had a layout. I was trying hard to make it last, but I have grown tired of not being able to see the road numbers on the cars and engines, and continue to be plagued with turnout problems on the layout.

However, the scale change has gotten me enthusiastic again, and I am looking forward to building a new switching layout in the space that I had set aside for the BC & E.
