My Layouts - Modules - Crystal Creek

The purpose of this project was to practice hand-laying code 40 rail and turnouts. I also wanted a switching layout to keep me busy without taking up a lot of space in the house.

I worked on the module for about a year. I don't have enough time to devote to the hobby, so progress was frustratingly slow. I did manage to get some working track and several turnout build, so that I could run some trains.

The photo here is the latest, overall photo of the module. All the handlaid ties are down. They have been stained and sanded. The last thing I did was to ballast the track. Tracklaying stage was started, but not completed. The dates below indicate when I last added new content to the pages, and the percentage numbers indicate how much was completed at the time I abandoned the project.

I abandoned the project, because I was tired of it, and not too thrilled about not being able to run longer trains. The Bear Creek & Eastern project was started next.
