This photo album covers a trip I took sponsored and organized by the NMRA's Lone Star Region. The day-trip on May 4th, 2002 was to Long Leaf, Louisiana. The saw mill is now part of the Southern Forest Heritage Museum and Research Center. The saw mill is located in an extremely densely forested part of western Louisiana. The area was completely clear-cut in the 1950's, but you wouldn't be able to tell that today!
