FRSCalendar™ shows the current month by default. However, you can select any month or any year quite easily. Buttons near the top of the window make it trivial to show the previous or next month, or the previous or next year.

The date that represents "today" is highlighted with a pink background color. No matter what month you are viewing, you can always instantly come back to "today" by pressing the "Today" button.

If you so choose, national holidays or important dates can be shown in the calendar. In our screen capture here, these are identified with light tan bullets. The dark brown bullets are "personalized" entries of dates that are significant to us, such as birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Our other application have this calendar integrated, so the settings you select are shared with applications such as FRSGiftRegistry, FRSLibrary, etc. To find out what special day the bullet indicates, simply hover the cursor over the day and a small window pops up showing the name of the day. The color of the bullets is under your control.

For the "Personalized" settings, you can specify special dates as simple as a fixed day in a particular month (such as a birthday), a relative day in a month (e.g. the company picnic every third Saturday in August), and even very complicated dates such as the first Tuesday after the first Monday in September, the Sunday after the 15th of the month, or even dates that only occur in odd- or even-numbered years.
You can select any day in the calendar. When you click on a day that falls in the next or previous month, the calendar will automatically show that month. You can quickly navigate through the calendar using the keyboard's up, down, left, and right arrow keys. For very quick navigation, you can use the Page Up or Page Down keys. If your computer's mouse has a center scroll wheel, you can use that as well to scroll through the months.
The "Options" button displays a menu from which you can copy the selected date's text to the Windows® Clipboard so that you don't have to type in the date in another application, for example. It also has a Print menu command that prints a single page displaying the selected month. That is very handy for when you need to provide hand-outs, or you want to write down some things in a printed calendar (e.g. to put the family schedule on the refrigerator).
A new feature is the ability to generate a web page of the currently-selected calendar. This menu command is also available on the "Options" button menu. You will wind up with a file that contains a nice, clean calendar. You can use that as-is on your web site, or you can add text to dates indicating important events for your club, group, organization, or company.
