About FRSPCLogOff

FRSPCLogOff is a command-line utility that logs you out of your Windows session.

Logging off means that Windows closes all of your running applications, and then exits to the standard Windows log-in screen. From there you can log in again later on, or allow another person to log in and use the same computer.

FRSPCLogOff skips all the clicking and confirming that Windows makes you do when you try to log out. FRSPCLogOff calls the exact same system function that Windows itself uses, so all of your applications will be able to gracefully shut down, and prompt you to save their data, if applicable.

Note that after you use FRSPCLogOff and you log back in, your computer will be in the same state it is in as if you rebooted your computer. In other words, it will start all the applications that it is supposed to start at boot-up, and you will have to open any applications and documents that you are working on. Alternatively, you might also consider using our FRSPCHibernate, or FRSPCSleep.

Using FRSPCLogOff

FRSPCLogOff displays no user interface. This is done on purpose, so that you can use it within a .bat file or other scripting file, to trigger the computer to be logged-out after your script does some work. Or, simply double-click on the application's icon on the Windows Desktop, if you had the installation program create a shortcut for you there.

To use FRSPCLogOff in a Windows command-line batch file (e.g. "myscript.bat"), do the following:

That's all! An example usage might be that you are getting ready to go to lunch. You want to run some command-line batch file or script that does some lengthy work, but when it is done, you want it to log you out. FRSPCLogOff makes that possible.
